OF-39 Krasnopol
A Soviet-designed, guided artillery gun projectile which forms part of the 2K25 Krasnopol system produced by Russia’s KBP Instrument Design Bureau. The Krasnopol has a maximum effective range of 60 km and is 152 mm in calibre (although a 155 mm variant was also developed). The projectile can be fired from both towed and self-propelled artillery and is guided using an air- or ground-based laser designator to illuminate the target. This allows the Krasnopol to strike both stationary and moving targets. It has seen extensive use in the Syrian Civil War and the Libyan Civil War, as well as the ongoing war in Ukraine.
