Iran Fires Cheap Drones Into Arab Countries, Wreaking Havoc
In an article examining the Shahed one-way-attack (OWA) UAV (‘kamikaze drone’) used extensively by Iran, The New York Times linked to the OSMP’s visual explainer of the Shahed-131 and Shahed-136.
The article explained how the munition used extensively by Russia in Ukraine was now being deployed by Iran to hit Dubai and other locations in the Gulf states after the United States and Israel began a large-scale bombing campaign seeking to overthrow the Iranian regime.
“Having already proven its cheap and lethal effectiveness on the Ukrainian battlefield, the Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drone was unleashed across the Arab Gulf this weekend”, the article said, linking to the OSMP explainer which uses 3D models to visually explain how the Shahed-136 and its smaller counterpart the Shahed-131 work.
